MKAML are appointed across Southern England on all of British Land’s owned or managed retail parks extending from East Anglia to South Wales and Cornwall.

As well as facing the challenge of managing a wide number of sites across a large geographical area, most of which do not have a directly employed on-site staff presence, the portfolio has been subject to a large number of both sales and acquisitions. As a consequence, it has been of major importance that due diligence in respect of all sales has been concluded without fuss or delay. MKAML have therefore had to ensure that all records are maintained in a “ready for sale” state, service charge reconciliations are promptly and accurately dealt with, items of health and safety, general property management, maintenance and other relevant information has been readily discloseable to purchasers. In an era where time delays in the provision of information such as this or the lack of complete records can potentially cause delays to a completion timetable, price renegotiations or ultimately, failed transactions, the role of the managing agent has never been more crucial.

In addition, we have worked hard with both retailers and the client to ensure that the shopping experience on the retail parks is something to be enjoyed rather than endured, and have put particular effort into delivering the highest standards of parking, landscaping and customer facilities, whilst demonstrating best value to retailers at all times.
