We were invited to manage the Eastgate Centre just before a major refurbishment of the Food Court and common parts was to commence.

As well as the normal range of duties and responsibilities carried out by the managing agent, our role was also extended to incorporate consultancy work in respect of the refurbishment where we acted as project co-ordinator.

During the refurbishment of the Food Court in conjunction with the design team we initiated a number of changes to the design, which led to substantial cost and construction programme savings. By recommending changes to the works programme and negotiating terms with existing operators we were also able to ensure key elements of the Food Court remained trading throughout the refurbishment period.

With the refurbishment of both the Food Court and the internal common areas now complete, the Centre has been transformed, allowing the client to relaunch its letting campaign to good effect. By working closely with the client, external advisors and the Centre Management Team, as well as tenants, MKAML have been able to make a real difference to the performance of the Centre over the last eighteen months.
